In a time of mass production and rapid technological development, the small company Bege Skinn stands out and says: "We have no new machines". If a machine breaks down, it is sent to the smith in Simrishamn for repair. The assignments are often a niche, it can be a fur cap for a character in a Lasse Åberg movie or a special insole. In the store there are 3500 different products. As much as possible, Bege uses locally produced and non-toxic materials for example, environmental leather. The furskins are from Tranås Skinnberedning, and the vegetable-tanned leather is from Tärnsjö Garveri. “We are modern in our own way,” BeGe says, referring to the originality of the products.
