Ferrum Smide

Martin Hansson is a traditional iron smith who works from a smithy in Bjärred. He molds the hot iron with hearth and anvil. He makes furniture, gates, art objects and tools. Recent assignments include a larger bronze sculpture of two ants commissioned by the real estate company Wallenstam. Smithing has become an obsolete craft that has in many places been replaced by more industrial methods. Martin wants to bring back the craftsmanship by attaching great importance to techniques and craftsmanship.
